Zach Bryan’s Cringe Lyrics in ‘Bad News’

Zach Bryan probably thought that people would start doing a slow clap like in the movies when he teased a part of his song “Bad News” on Instagram. In the song he for some reason is bashing the police and bashing ICE.

The controversial lyrics are: “I heard the cops came, Cocky motherf—ers, ain’t they?” and, “And ICE is gonna come bust down your door, try to build a house no one builds no more, but I got a telephone, Kids are all scared and all alone.”

First, just know that if you’re a rural white guy who is repeating Democrat talking points you saw on TV, you’re free to do that, but we are laughing at you. Some people would use the term hicklib.  And that’s what happens when you get your worldview based on your 7th grade social studies class.

Here’s from Fox News:

“Some fellow country artists said they could do without Bryan's new, politically charged single. Singer Buddy Brown began by taking jabs at Bryan's past arrest and making parallels to country artists like The Chicks, formerly The Dixie Chicks, who paid the price for getting political after they publicly criticized President George W. Bush ahead of the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.

When the Dixie-Chicks spoke out against George W. Bush, their fans weren’t too crazy about that. And we hardly need to revisit the hilarious Dylan Mulvaney Bud Lite fiasco. So this could be a similar situation.

The first verse of “Bad News” is kind of cool–he hasn’t gotten cringe yet:

Didn't wake up dead or in jail
Some out-of-town boys been giving us hell
I got some bad news
I woke up missing you

Classic country-rock vibes, your life is a mess, you’re in love.  It creates a vibe, I like it.  But the next couple of lines go off the rails:

I heard the cops came
Cocky motherfuckers, ain't they?

Excuse me?  So this is like an adolescent mindset: Screw you dad, screw the cops.  What, you don’t want cops?  What is the plan then?  Is Zach Bryan antifa?  Defund the police stuff?

And then the infamous lyrics:

And ICE is gonna come bust down your door
Try to build a house no one builds no more

After Kristi Noem noted that the song was disrespectful to law enforcement, Bryan released a statement “I love this country.”  Well, a lot of leftists say that.
